How do I move my journal to a new phone?
On Android, if your old phone had a screen lock, setting up the new phone from your Google backup brings your journal back by itself. Otherwise, open Ponder on the new phone, choose Moving from another phone? on the first screen, and type the recovery code you saved.
Where is my recovery code?
In Settings, under your privacy card: Save your recovery code, or Show recovery code once you have. Keep it somewhere safe away from your phone. Your journal is encrypted with a key only your phone holds, so without the phone and the code, no one can open it again, including us.
How does Buddy work?
Open the Buddy tab and send your six-character code to your person, or type theirs. Then choose together a companion you both have. Your nights and theirs fill one sky, and you look after the shared companion together. Your buddy sees that you checked in and your score for each night, never your words. You can pause Buddy any time, or end it for good from the ⋯ button.
My evening reminder doesn't come
Check that notifications are allowed for Ponder in your phone's settings, then set the time under Settings → Reminder → Evening reminder. Some phones pause apps to save battery; letting Ponder run in the background helps.
How do I turn off analytics?
Turn off Settings → Privacy → Share anonymous usage. That stops both usage analytics and crash reports. Neither ever includes what you write.
How do I delete my account?
Choose Delete my account and journal in Settings. It deletes your account and everything on our server at once, and clears the phone. If you can't open the app any more, see deleting your account.
Is Ponder on iPhone?
Not yet. Ponder is coming to Android first, and to iPhone after that.
How Ponder handles your data is in the privacy policy.
